Mental Health OT

An Occupational Therapist demonstrates the ability to work in many areas, including the mental health field. They are uniquely trained to work on the physical and mental wellbeing of each person. They focus on enhancing people’s functioning and quality of life by providing mental health treatment and prevention services to children, young adults, the aging, and those with persistent mental illness.

An Occupational Therapist can assess and provide interventions for a variety of mental health challenges. They can evaluate and adapt the environment, home, school, or workplace. They can provide educational programs, learning and treatment to help an individual achieve a higher level of independence.  The goal of an Occupational Therapist is to increase an individual’s ability to live independently as possible within their community.
